Coldwater acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Schwartz Chemical Corporation (“Schwartz” or the “Company“) in connection with its sale to a Private Buyer Group.
Founded in 1969 and headquartered in Pickering, Ontario, Schwartz is a specialty manufacturer of coatings, adhesives, and sealants for well-recognized brands across industrial, commercial, and consumer markets. Schwartz produces both proprietary and customer formulations with long-standing relationships with global leaders such as Sherwin-Williams, Henkel, and IKO Roofing.
Coldwater guided Schwartz through a complex transaction, addressing the environmentally sensitive nature of chemical manufacturing and specialized facility considerations. Coldwater successfully navigated tax issues related to the Company’s real estate ownership, while also negotiating a transition agreement that provides continued upside from business development activities.
