Aztec Electrical Supply Inc. has been acquired by Sonepar Canada Inc.
Coldwater acted as the exclusive M&A advisor to Aztec Electrical Supply, Inc. (“Aztec” or the “Company”) on its sale to Sonepar Canada, Inc. (“Sonepar”).
Founded in 2003, the Company is a leading Canadian electrical and automation distributor supplying select lighting, control, and specialty products to many large Canadian contractors and manufacturing plants.
Sonepar Canada, Inc. is a subsidiary of Sonepar Global, one of the world’s largest B2B distributors of electrical products, solutions, and related services. Over the past 20 years, Sonepar has made over 200 acquisitions, accounting for over €10 billion in sales.
This acquisition expands Sonepar’s diverse network of over 100 brands in 40 countries with a dedicated sales force presence in Ontario and allows for further growth across the GTA.
Coldwater positioned Aztec as a strategic fit for Sonepar and managed a tailored negotiation process that addressed the objectives of all shareholders, securing transition agreements for those remaining with the business while structuring a clean exit for the departing owner.
